Parade Marshall

“Flimsy the Clown” aka Bruce Lowery

Flimsy the Clown

It has often been said that the greatest thing about being a clown is not only making people smile but more importantly spreading joy to everyone around and showing them, they are loved. For several years at the Columbus County Agriculture Fair, we have been honored to have someone in our midst that spends countless hours spreading this message of joy and love to all around him. Whether it's kindergarten day dancing with children and with teachers, to special friends' day putting smiles on everyone's faces to just walking around the fair, Flimsy the Clown has made the Columbus County fairgrounds a special place and left an indelible mark on so many individuals. For some people, it would be humbling to be on stage, dancing and singing dressed as a clown but for Flimsy, not so. For him, this is a deeper calling for his fellow man, a calling of spreading love and joy. Simply put, for the thousands of people that Flimsy the Clown has made smile and laugh, he is their friend, and he has left a special place in their heart! Flimsy will always have a special place in our hearts as well and the Columbus County Agriculture Fair is proud to call him our friend.

Therefore, the Columbus County Agriculture Fair is proud to announce Flimsy the Clown, aka Mr. Bruce Lowery, as the 2024 Columbus County Agriculture Fair Parade Marshal. We know that we are giving him an opportunity to truly dance in the streets, but we can't wait to see the smiles and the joy he will bring.
